Marc Raymond Opticians is in support of the Partners in Mission Foodbank

As the longest standing Opticians in Kingston, our community is something we hold very near and dear to our hearts. Being able to serve Kingstonians for all their optical needs has been such a pleasure the last 50+ years, however our office is always striving to do more.

After doing some of our own research, we learned that on average, 1 in every 9 households in KFL&A faced food insecurity in 2022 (1). In addition, the average monthly cost to feed healthy meals to a family of 4 is $1099.00 (1). For many in our community, this cost can be unmanageable when also needing to budget for their other monthly living expenses. In times such as today, we believe that our community can help face this food insecurity by coming together and supporting benefitting causes such as food banks.

At Marc Raymond Opticians, we are proud to have a donation drop box in support of the Partner’s in Mission Foodbank. With every donation we are supplying a complimentary bottle of cleaning spray and a cloth to those making the donation. If you’re curious as to what donations can be made, the Foodbank has listed pasta sauce, cereals, baby food and formula, 100% fruit juice, canned meat and fish, canned stew and soups, peanut butter, monetary donations, and hygiene products such as diapers, tampons, and pads, as the items currently needed most (2).

With the mission to provide nourishment, hope and support in the Kingston community with an opportunity for all to share, the Partner’s in Mission Foodbank have their sights set on a community where everyone has access to adequate nutritious food and an atmosphere of respect and compassion (2). With your kindness and donations, we can help the Foodbank be one step closer to achieving their goals, while fostering a sense of togetherness in our community.
